My Story

Hello, everyone. My name is Christy Graber. As of January 2021, I am 22 years old. I am part of the Class of 2021 at St. Olaf College. My majors include Asian Studies and Japanese.

I come from a small city in northern Indiana named Elkhart. There is nothing to do there and it is very boring, but my family is my world. I have my dad, mom, and older brother. I love them very much!

私の出身地はインディアナ州のエルカートです。あれはつまらなくて何もしませんが、家族は私の世界です。父や母や兄もあります。とても愛しています！

I chose St. Olaf because it felt like home. The difference being my freedom level. Elkhart is about 9 hours away by car. I knew I was not going to stay home since I was a kid. I love traveling and trying to understand culture.

うちのように感じてセイントオラフに行きました。違うのは私の自由レベルです。エルカートまで車で約９時間です。子供の時、うちで住んでいないことを知っていました。旅行して文化を理解しようとするのが大好きです。

Now, after four years of studying, I will be graduating in May. It feels like a dream. I hope you, the readers, enjoy looking at my works and reading about my journey through the Asian Studies (and Japanese) departments.
